Allievo di Wittgenstein, Max Blak (1909-1988) è stato onorato col titolo di Susan Linn Sage professor of philosophy and humane letters emeritus at Cornell University and senior member of the Cornell program on science, technology, and society.
Nel 1983 esce presso la casa editrice Pratiche Modelli, archetipi, metafore, già pubblicato nel 1962 da Cornell UP col titolo Models and Metaphors.
